We all know the difference between a good driver and a bad driver. Good driving is merely about following the rules, driving within the speed limit, stopping whenever you’re supposed to and driving on when you’re supposed to. Plus, of course, you should never be intoxicated when you drive or you might get into a car accident.

Driving Is a Complex Function

We don’t realize it, but driving is a complex function which requires us to be completely alert. This is why you can’t be distracted while driving. And that means no texting, no checking messages, no listening to loud music etc. If you find yourself feeling distracted, pull over and take a few deep breaths until you feel like you can concentrate again. And then keep going.

Avoiding Bad Drivers Around You

What if you’re following all the rules and you still get into a car accident? This can happen when drivers around you are not following the rules or are intoxicated/distracted. It’s a good idea to look out for bad drivers on the road and avoid them completely. If someone keeps honking behind you because they feel like you’re driving too slow, let them pass you. After all, you’re not on a race track!

Avoiding Road Rage

Everyone gets those feelings of irritation and annoyance when they’re stuck in traffic or when they feel like the drivers around them are not following the rules. But you can’t let your emotions get the better of you or you might get into a car accident. Try to stay calm and carry on driving the way you normally do. Don’t get angry or give in to road rage; you might end up harming yourself as well as the people around you.
