According to the California Code of Civil Procedure, the statute of limitations for most personal injury claims is two (2) years. The two-year time limit applies to cases of “assault, battery, or injury to, or for the death of, an individual caused by the wrongful act or neglect of another” (CCP § 335.1).

It is best to work with a personal injury attorney to be properly guided on what to do if one has a personal injury claim against another.

I was in a store and slipped on a wet surface that didn’t have any signage stating that point. I twisted my knee and spend all day at the urgent care. I want someone else to pay my medical bill. Would I have a case to bring to a personal injury attorney?
